M-Power-Me Therapy
Dr. NICOLETTE LAWSON D.Hyp., C.Hyp., CMH., MHA, UKHR, UKGHE, MTNLP, AAMT
I don’t have the traditional background that you might expect a Hypnotherapist to have.
Yes, I'm a Doctor, but of Engineering not Medicine.
I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an Engineering Doctorate in Environmental Technology, but I also have a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from the Life Force School of Hypnotherapy in London and a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and I am a Member of the Hypnotherapy Association (formerly the BHA) and the UK Guild of Hypnotist Examiners. In addition I am a qualified practitioner of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), which is accredited by the Association for the Advancement of Meridian Therapies (AAMT).
Also, I am a member of the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners (Membership number: 3038)
(click here for an explanation of all the letters after my name!)
In September 2005 I was joint runner-up in the first ever Solihull Business Woman of The Year Awards, awarded by Soroptomists International and presented by MP Caroline Spelman. I am very proud of this award as it recognises my efforts to help the residents of Solihull (and beyond) to become calm, empowered and positive about the future.
My first career in Manufacturing and Environmental Management involved change: change in methods, change in practices, change in systems; but the biggest change and the hardest to achieve is change in people. You can never effectively change someone else, however hard some people try. But people can change themselves, if they want to and if they see a need to. Many people are frightened of change, but change is a natural and necessary part of life and it can be exciting and very beneficial.
Hypnotherapy is one of the best and simplest tools I have found for helping people to change their own lives. That's why I became a Hypnotherapist: I want to give everyone the opportunity of learning these tools.
I learnt self-hypnosis in 1998 and helped myself to finish my Doctorate when I had got to the point of hating and resenting it and not being able to see the end. I then used self-hypnosis for the birth of my second child - it turned out to be a wonderfully naturally birth, at home, with no pain relief and I delivered a healthy, calm 10.5 lb. baby! I recovered quickly and was back to my pre-(first)-pregnancy weight within 6 weeks!
I am so excited at the benefits that hypnosis can bring that I would like to help you to:
I see clients individually, work as a business consultant and I also run self-hypnosis courses and Hypno-Slim in the West Midlands.
